Brake Pad and Disc Replacement in Alanya
Brakes are the one system nobody should compromise on. Alanya's hilly roads and heavy summer traffic wear brakes faster than average. We measure your pads at every service and tell you the remaining thickness in millimetres.
There is no such thing as "good enough for now" with brakes. Once pad thickness drops below the limit, stopping distance grows and the disc starts to suffer too — so delaying is both dangerous and more expensive.
At Gökçeoğlu Oto brake work is usually completed the same day. Pads, discs, fluid and calipers are checked together, and only the parts that actually need replacing are replaced.
Brake system warning signs

- Metallic scraping, squealing or grinding when braking
- Vibration through the pedal, or the car pulling to one side
- A pedal that sinks toward the floor or feels hard
- Longer stopping distances
- ABS or brake warning light on the dashboard
- Brake fluid level constantly dropping
- Handbrake not holding, or pulling up much higher than usual
What we do in the brake department
- Front and rear pad replacement. Remaining pad thickness is measured and shown to you. A proper bedding-in procedure is applied afterwards.
- Brake disc measurement and replacement. Disc thickness and run-out are measured. A warped disc is the main cause of pedal vibration.
- Brake fluid (DOT) change. Fluid absorbs moisture and its boiling point falls. It should be renewed every two years, with the system properly bled.
- Caliper service and repair. A seized caliper piston eats pads and pulls the car to one side. Cleaning, seals and piston renewal are carried out.
- ABS diagnosis and sensor replacement. When the ABS light comes on the system is scanned; the cause is usually a wheel speed sensor.
- Master cylinder and brake line repair. If the pedal sinks, the master cylinder and lines are tested and any leaking line renewed.
- Handbrake adjustment and cable replacement. The most common reason for failing a roadworthiness test — solved by adjustment or a new cable.

Frequently asked questions
How often do brake pads need replacing?
On average every 30,000–50,000 km, but driving style and roads matter enormously. Cars that descend hills often in Alanya wear out sooner. The right measure is the pad thickness, not the mileage.
Do discs have to be replaced with the pads?
No. If disc thickness is above the manufacturer's limit and there is no run-out, only the pads are changed. We measure the disc and tell you the reading; we do not recommend unnecessary replacement.
Is a squeak from the brakes normal?
A light noise on the first move of the day can be moisture and is normal. A constant, metallic, grinding sound means the pads are finished and must not be ignored.
How long does brake work take?
Pad and disc replacement is usually done in 1–2 hours. Book an appointment and you can wait while it is completed.
