Auto Electrics, Alternator and Starter in Alanya
Getting into the car in the morning and finding it dead is the most frustrating kind of fault. The cause may be the battery, the alternator, the starter or a parasitic drain. Telling them apart is a matter of measurement, not swapping parts.
Alanya's heat shortens battery life and the coastal humidity causes corrosion in wiring. That makes electrical faults more common here than people expect.
We work through electrical faults in order: battery health, charging voltage, starter draw and parasitic drain. Measurement decides which part is actually faulty — we do not use the "let's change this and see" approach.
Signs of an electrical fault

- The car will not turn over, or is slow to start
- Battery warning light coming on while driving
- Headlights dimming, dashboard going dull
- A clicking sound when you turn the key
- The battery going flat overnight (parasitic drain)
- Windows, mirrors, central locking or the blower not working
- Blowing fuses, a burning smell or scorched wiring
What we do in the auto electrical department
- Battery testing and replacement. The battery is load tested. If it is sound we do not replace it; if it is weak a correctly rated one is fitted.
- Alternator repair and replacement. Charging voltage is measured. Brushes, regulator or bearing faults are repaired, or the alternator renewed.
- Starter motor repair and replacement. Cranking current is measured so we know whether the starter or the battery is really at fault.
- Parasitic drain testing. The circuit draining your battery overnight is found by testing fuse by fuse with an ammeter.
- Wiring and fuse repair. Corroded, broken or burnt wiring is repaired and the fuse box checked.
- Lighting systems. Headlight alignment, bulb and LED conversions, brake light and indicator faults.
- Comfort systems. Window motors, central locking, mirror motors and blower faults.

Frequently asked questions
Is it the battery or the alternator?
If the car starts with a jump but dies shortly after, it is usually the alternator; if it only struggles in the morning and is fine during the day, usually the battery. A voltage measurement settles it, and we can do that quickly.
How long does a battery last?
Typically 3–5 years, and less in a hot region like Alanya. We test your battery at every service so you find out before you are stranded.
My battery goes flat overnight. Why?
That is a parasitic drain, usually caused by an aftermarket stereo, alarm, tracker or a faulty relay. We find the source by measuring fuse by fuse.
Do you fit LED headlight conversions?
Yes, but we only recommend solutions that are legal and safe. We will not fit anything that dazzles oncoming drivers or causes a test failure.
