Exhaust Repair and Catalytic Converter Cleaning in Alanya
A hole in the exhaust is not only a noise problem; it can let carbon monoxide into the cabin and will push your emissions out of specification, failing the roadworthiness test. A blocked catalytic converter costs you power directly.
The exhaust is one of the most corrosion-prone parts of a car, and the coastal humidity in Alanya speeds that up. Fortunately, exhaust repair rarely needs a complete replacement — welding and section renewal usually solve it.
On catalytic converters and DPFs (diesel particulate filters) we measure the degree of blockage first. We do not turn something that cleaning would fix into an expensive replacement.
Signs of an exhaust or catalyst problem

What we do on the exhaust system
- Exhaust welding and hole repair. Corroded sections are cut out and new sections welded in, avoiding a full system replacement.
- Silencer and centre section replacement. A noisy silencer is replaced with the correct part for your car.
- Catalytic converter testing and cleaning. Blockage is measured; if it can be cleaned it is cleaned, otherwise replacement is recommended.
- DPF cleaning and forced regeneration. A DPF blocked by short city journeys is cleaned and a forced regeneration performed.
- Lambda sensor replacement. The sensor that directly affects fuel consumption and emissions is tested and replaced.
- Exhaust mount and hanger renewal. The most common cause of rattling is a broken hanger — a quick fix.
- Pre-test emissions check. Readings are taken before you go for the roadworthiness test so any failure risk is dealt with in advance.

Frequently asked questions
My exhaust has got louder. Is it urgent?
Noise aside, if the hole can let fumes into the cabin it is urgent. It will also fail a roadworthiness test. Checking is free and quick — just call in.
Does catalytic converter cleaning actually work?
In the early stages, yes, and it restores noticeable power. But if the internal substrate has melted or collapsed, cleaning will not help; measurement tells us which it is.
Why does the DPF block up?
On diesels, constant short city journeys stop the filter reaching the temperature it needs to clean itself. An occasional longer drive delays blockage.
Can you remove the catalytic converter?
No. Removing it is illegal and will stop your car passing its roadworthiness test. We do not carry out this work; we offer cleaning or proper replacement instead.
