Clutch Repair and Replacement in Alanya
When a clutch starts to slip the engine revs but the car does not accelerate. Carrying on at that stage damages the flywheel too and doubles the bill. Acting as soon as symptoms appear is the cheapest option.
A clutch is a wear item; it will need replacing sooner or later. What matters is doing it at the right time and to the right extent. Replacing only the friction plate and leaving the cover and bearing means taking the car apart again shortly afterwards.
We replace clutches as a complete kit: plate, cover and release bearing together, with the flywheel inspected. That way the job is done once and stays done for years.
Signs of clutch failure
If you are experiencing any of the following it is worth having the car checked. If you are not sure, message us on WhatsApp and we will give you an initial assessment over the phone.
- Revs rise but the car does not accelerate (slipping)
- Biting point very high or very low on the pedal
- Shudder and vibration when pulling away
- A squeal or rumble when the pedal is pressed
- Gears hard to select, especially first and reverse
- A burning smell, particularly after climbing hills
- The pedal sticking to the floor and not returning
What we do in the clutch department
- Clutch kit replacement. Friction plate, pressure plate and release bearing are renewed together. We do not do half a job.
- Flywheel inspection and renewal. The flywheel surface is measured; on dual-mass flywheels free play is checked. It is machined or replaced as required.
- Master and slave cylinder repair. If the pedal sticks to the floor the fault is usually in the cylinders. The system is bled and tested.
- Hydraulic line and bearing replacement. Leaking lines and worn bearings are renewed.
- Clutch pedal adjustment. The biting point is set to suit normal driving.
- Road test and handover. After replacement a load test is carried out and the running-in period explained when you collect the car.

Frequently asked questions
How many kilometres does a clutch last?
In heavy city use 80,000–120,000 km; on mainly long-distance driving far longer. Driving habits are the biggest factor — resting your foot on the pedal shortens life significantly.
Can you replace just the friction plate?
Technically yes, but we do not recommend it. The cover and bearing are the same age and fail soon after, meaning you pay the labour twice. A full kit is cheaper in the long run.
Does the flywheel have to be replaced too?
No. The surface is measured and if it is within limits it is machined and reused. On dual-mass flywheels excessive free play means replacement. We show you the measurement.
How long does the work take?
Usually one working day depending on the model. On cars where the gearbox must be dropped it can take longer; we give you an exact time when booking.
