Computer Diagnostics in Alanya

Reading a fault code is easy; interpreting it correctly is not. The tool may point at a sensor when the real fault is the wiring going to it. We look for the cause, not the code.

OBD-II

When the check engine light comes on there are two wrong reactions: ignoring it, or immediately replacing whatever part the scanner names. Both cost money. The right method is to treat the code as a starting point and confirm it against live data.

At Gökçeoğlu Oto all control units are scanned, live sensor values examined and, where necessary, data logged during a road test. We then explain the result in plain language: what is wrong, why it happened and what it costs to fix.

When you need a diagnostic scan

If you are experiencing any of the following it is worth having the car checked. If you are not sure, message us on WhatsApp and we will give you an initial assessment over the phone.

  • Check engine light on, or flashing
  • ABS, airbag, ESP or battery warning light
  • The car dropping into limp mode or losing power
  • Rough idle, misfiring or sudden stalling
  • Unexplained increase in fuel consumption
  • High emission readings at a roadworthiness test
  • A general inspection before buying a used car

What a diagnostic session covers

  • Scanning every control unit. Not just the engine — ABS, airbag, transmission, climate and comfort modules are read too.
  • Live data analysis. Sensor values are watched while the engine runs. This is how we tell whether the part named by the code is really faulty.
  • Road test data logging. For faults that only appear while driving, data is recorded on the road.
  • Wiring and connector inspection. A large share of apparent sensor faults turn out to be a broken or corroded wire.
  • Emissions and fuel system assessment. Lambda sensor readings, air-fuel mixture and leak tests are carried out.
  • Written fault report and plan. Findings are given to you in writing, separating what must be done from what is optional.
  • Pre-purchase inspection. Before you buy a used car we check for hidden fault history and recently cleared codes.

Our pricing policy: We do not quote a price before diagnosis is complete, and we do not start work after it without your approval. The work to be done and the parts costs are sent to you in writing, item by item.

Frequently asked questions

Can I drive with the check engine light on?
If the light is steady you can drive carefully for a short distance. If it is flashing there is a risk of damaging the catalytic converter — stop and call us.
Does clearing the code fix the problem?
No. Clearing only switches off the warning; if the cause remains the light returns within days. We clear codes only after the fault has been repaired.
Can you scan any car?
We can read the large majority of cars and light commercial vehicles. Send us your make and model on WhatsApp and we will confirm before you come.
How long does diagnosis take?
A standard scan and assessment takes 30–60 minutes. Intermittent faults needing a road test can take longer.
